Millennium in Early Talks to Start CLO Management Business
Millennium Management is in early talks to start a CLO management platform, according to sources.
While no new hires have been made as of yet, the firm has had discussions about potentially starting its own CLO shelf, joining an already crowded market, with more new entrants each day.
The business would fall under Dan Friedman, who left Diameter Capital just over a year ago to run the credit and mortgage business for Millennium and was previously overseeing the European credit trading at Goldman Sachs.
The firm also hired Steven Sasson, who spent time at Silver Point and Anchorage Capital before joining Millennium in 2024.
The firm joins a growing list of interested parties to become CLO managers. Octus recently reported that Triton Partners, Squarepoint and 26North are all in early stages of launching their own CLO management platforms.
A spokesperson for Millennium did not respond to a request for comment.
