Octus credit intelligence and data, now embedded in Harvey’s agentic legal platform

By: Ben Kovacka

  • Intelligence and context built into the agent: The Octus MCP ConnectorTM gives Harvey’s purpose-built agents, including diligence, litigation and research agents, direct access to Octus’ proprietary credit intelligence and data, so the agent doing the work already has the context it needs.
  • Depth where Harvey firms need it most: AmLaw firms and enterprise in-house teams get market-moving news and analysis, covenant data and the market’s most complete US court filings database, covering the Chapter 11 and distressed litigation work that sits at the center of Harvey’s US practice.
  • Scale meets scale: Harvey firms run high-volume diligence and litigation work through agents built for enterprise throughput. Octus’ “Trifecta,” nearly 300 financial analysts, legal analysts and expert journalists, supplies the proprietary intelligence those agents draw on, with more to come as the connector expands.

Restructuring and leveraged finance work at AmLaw firms rarely stays inside one document. A diligence agent needs covenant terms and market comps. A litigation agent needs docket history. A research agent needs to know creditor dynamics and situational context relevant to the borrower, not just what’s in the filing. Today, that context often sits in a separate platform, which means a lawyer, or an agent, has to stop and go get it.

The Octus MCP Connector closes the credit intelligence gap inside Harvey. Octus’ credit intelligence, including expert analysis, private company financials, covenant and restructuring data and US court filings, becomes available directly to the agents Harvey firms already build and run, without a separate research step breaking the workflow. And the connector is built to grow: additional Credit Cloud data, including the Advisors Database, debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) and business development company (“BDC”) Data, is coming to give those same agents deeper deal advisor histories and sponsor relationships over time.

Harvey is the AI platform built for law firms and in-house legal teams. Octus’ credit intelligence is now available across Harvey’s product surfaces, from Assistant to Agent Builder. A lawyer working in Assistant can pull covenant terms or creditor dynamics from Octus into a research task directly. Firms building specialized agents can give the agent access to that same data from the start, whether the agent is running diligence, litigation, or research. In either case, that work draws on Octus’ non-public, source-cited credit intelligence directly as part of its task, including data from more than 60,000 articles published annually by the Octus “Trifecta.”

Octus doesn’t replace the agent. It gives the agent proprietary, permissioned data on the private credit and distressed markets that general legal AI simply can’t reconstruct.

US restructuring and large-cap leveraged finance activity has kept AmLaw diligence and litigation teams busy. Octus’ court filings database and private company intelligence give Harvey’s agents the docket history, covenant terms and sponsor relationships that matter most in exactly that work, from Chapter 11 filings to lender-on-lender disputes.

Restructuring and distressed litigation move fast, and the firms doing this work can’t afford gaps between their agents and the intelligence those agents need. Bringing Octus’ credit data directly into Harvey means our agents are working with the same context our clients’ teams already trust, without an extra step or lost time.
